Obi Manteufel, as the Artistic Director of the Tacoma International Music Festival, created programming and recruited artists.  These included Jon Nakamatsu, pianist,  Borislav Strulev, cellist,  Kathleen Battle, soprano,  St. Lawrence String Quartet,  Byron Janis, pianist, and Eric Friedman, violinist.

Artistic Director, Festival of Pianos, Meany Hall, University of Washington.  The Festival showcased five of Manteufel's instruments.  Artists featured were Claude Frank, Georges Pludermacher, Philippe Bianconi, and  Malcolm Frager,  who waived their fees as admirers of Obi's instruments.     

Supplied instruments from private piano collection to Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival at the St. Michele Winery in Woodinville, Washington and at a private recital, fund-raiser at Manteufel's residence on Bainbridge Island, Washington.
