We specialize in the discreet sourcing of exceptional historic pianos for the performance stage and for the discerning artist and amateur.  We have placed pianos with new owners in Europe, London, Asia, Canada, and the U.S..  We take care of the complete process from the initial inquiry through reconstruction, fine regulation, tuning, and voicing, and domestic and international shipping logistics.

Understanding our clients and their instruments - present and future needs -  is our goal. Our network of trusted partners brings the finest international expertise and materials for the reconstruction process.   We have worked with private clients as well as consortias.  Consortias make possible purchases of  historically significant and tonally exceptional instruments for performing venues.

Manteufel has completed over sixty pianos, rebuilds and re-manufactures.  These include pianos for Byron Janis,  Inna Perkis and Boris Zarankin, and other concert artists.  Instruments for the concert stage include the 1876 Steinway Centennial that is housed in the Pantages Theatre in Tacoma, Washington, and the 1892 Steinway that is in the Benaroya Hall in Seattle, Washington.  The Festival of the Pianos showcased five of Manteufel's instruments at Meany Hall, University of Washington, featuring Claude Frank, Georges Pludermacher, Philippe Bianconi, and  Malcolm Frager,  who waived their fees as admirers of Obi's instruments.

We develop and value the long term relationships with all of our clients to ensure that their pianos will continue to realize the highest levels of  performance and musical insights.

We would be pleased to talk with you about a Private Treaty Sale on your behalf.
